In 2012, Kalan graduated from the University of Central Florida, moved back home to Gainesville and started Top Tier. He leased out a small space next to his parents' embroidery business which they had owned since 1990. With a dream and an unmatched work ethic, he began to get to work.

What started as a one man operation and countless long nights printing t-shirts quickly grew faster than Kalan could handle by himself. He began hiring employees and leased out another small unit to keep up with production. In 2019, Kalan bought his parents' embroidery business and it officially became part of Top Tier. Kalan's wife Kristy also joined the team in 2019 and continued the tradition of a family owned business.

In September of 2020, Top Tier moved into a custom built 10,000 square foot facility. We have been incredibly blessed to grow as a business year after year and now have 18 employees. ​We've had an amazing journey over the past 12 years and are looking forward to what the next 12 years bring!​
